Tips and Preparation

Our advice for a successful trip:

  • Be equipped/ equip your child: ski jacket and trousers, warm hat, waterproof gloves or mittens, mask or glasses, sun cream and tissues.
  • Avoid following your child's lessons and trying to attract their attention.
  • Helmets are not compulsory but strongly advised.
  • Each student must have their lesson card on them at all times. The cards are nominative and cannot be given to someone else.
  • Check the mobile phone number and name on the lesson card you leave in your child's pocket: this is how the instructor will contact you if necessary
  • Leave the decision about an eventual level change to the experts: the instructors. But don't be afraid to talk to them!
  • Respect the instructor and other participants by being punctual for lessons.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the price of the ski lifts is not included.
  • 5 or 6 day courses are on consecutive days.
  • Important: ESF does not insure students. To avoid potential risks and financial problems of an accident, we recommend that you take out a comprehensive insurance like the Carré Neige.
  • Bad weather conditions, ski lift breakdowns or other accidents are not attributable to ESF.  If lesson times are reduced to reasons beyond our control, no refund will be made.
  • The ESF declines all responsibility for property or personal injury that may occur to students.
  • If you have any doubt regarding the choice of skis or snowboard, let the hire shop know what you are intending to do when you hire your equipment. You can also contact ESF if you have any further questions.
  • For snowshoeing and cross-country skiing excursions, remember the 3 layer-rule: a breathable under-layer, a fleece jacket and a windbreaker, for example. Between activity and pauses the temperature changes are rapid!
