Snowshoeing

An unforgettable outing

Discover the beautiful landscapes of a legendary valley 
Learn about the mountain from the guides/ instructors who will teach you all they know about the mountains in winter, local history, flora, environment...  

Observe wildlife and follow their tracks through the snow. Off the beaten track, away from the slopes, noise and crowds.

- Pick up and return in an ESF minibus from/ to any of the 4 ESF offices 
- Price with or without snowshoe hire: pay only 7 € extra at the ESF office and go to any of the sports hire shops to exchange your ticket for an all-inclusive package of shoes (specific to the snowshoes), snowshoes and poles. 
- Full day excursions available for groups of 8 or more people, please inquire at the ESF offices for availability and prices.  

What to bring: 
- Bottle of water
- At least one extra layer of clothing (jumper/ jacket etc)
- Sun cream 
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Ski pass or foot passenger pass for the Mont Cenis Lake outing (all-inclusive packages available from the ESF offices).

Moonlit snowshoe evening

Spend an unforgettable evening in a mountain chalet and enjoy a typical mountain meal in the company of our instructors/ guides who will reveal stories of their treasured valley.

RDV early evening (4 pm) at the gondola in Val Cenis le Haut where you will take the gondola and then the Arcelle chairlift, walk to the mountain chalet and indulge in your evening meal before walking back down to the village by moonlight. Return around 10 pm.

Visit a traditional mountain farm

Meet a local farmer and learn all about their passion for farming and the particularities of the different seasons in Val Cenis. How to make Beaufort cheese (+ tasting session), history of farming in the village, meet the cows, etc. 

Meet the farmer in front of the Tourist Information Office in Lanslebourg on Thursdays at 2pm.

N.B. the farmer does not speak English...
